Everybody knows about the mass deletion thing by now, right? If not, see THIS POST, most recent (as of this moment) in a series, which explains a lot, and also includes many links to more info and personal reactions.

I don't know what else to say except that this is bullshit. And if LJ is going to go around smacking down fan journals and comms for items in an interest list without bothering to investigate them any further, they ought to perhaps consider the amount of their revenue that comes from the fan community. To that end, everybody should go and join fandom_counts (go to the user info page to join) It's a comm that has been created for the purpose of taking a headcount of fandom journals. Just take a second to pop over and join, if you haven't already.

There are a lot of people out there with interesting and well thought out posts on this subject. This is not one of them, but hopefully the links here will be helpful if you're interested in further discussion or information, or if you hadn't actually heard about this yet.

It's not about protecting the porn. It's about the difference between policing actual predators or just silencing anyone who talks, writes, or thinks about subjects someone else has deemed offensive.

ETA: Okay, so Six Apart has finally broken radio silence. Their response makes me feel better, but... eh. I think the whole mess still raises a lot of valid issues about censorship and the perception of fandom as a whole as a bunch of pervs and pedos. Even if it was a mistake this time, how many of us would have been shocked if it wasn't?

Yeah, so I'm working on moving all the fic from the site that my domain registrar WON'T LET ME MOVE AARRRRRGGGGGGHHHHHHHH to the new fic journal...

Knowing me, and how much of a giant boring pain in the ass it's been so far, this process could take years. :P BUT. I have successfully moved all the Harmonics stuff there, so I guess if anybody misses those stories for some reason, you can check them out here: aoe_shoori_fics

Sooner or later I'll get it all moved. I'm probably going to work my way through the WK stuff first, then do GW... or I may jump around, do all the chaptered stuff and then go back for the shorter stuff... *dies at the thought of transferring the 30+ chapter crap*

Anyway. Yeah, fic on the move. All new stuff (HA HA RIGHT 9___9 ) will be posted there from now on, but I'll post a link and announce it here, too. ;)

Yeah, so one or two of you may have noticed the website is down. 9__9 I'm in the process of switching hosts and also slapping together a journal just for the stories, but it will take me a while since I'm working many many nights for the next couple weeks. Just FYI. ;)

In other news, Laurell K. Hamilton's new book is out, it's the next in the Meredith series...oh, wait! Actually, it's just the rest of the previous book in the Meredith series. 9__9 The rest of the ONE DAY she didn't manage to cover in the last book. Which is why it's only 212 pages. (Which is about what the Anita Books used to run to, back when they had PLOTS. I miss plots.) /bitching about professional authors who need editors to smack them around. :P

Erm, since my darling Shoori seems to have abandoned her lj, I suppose I should make this announcement for her, to those who may find it of interest:

W00t. ^_~ The date is set for Bastille Day, next year. Because, ya know, it's Shoori. And she's dorky adorable like that. ;)

...nothing else to report, really. ;) I just work and sleep and buy manga. ;) And of late, read Good Omens fic by daegaer, which everyone who has ever read Good Omens ought to do. ;) (and anyone who has not read Good Omens should do so. ;) )
